Wits Take Down Chiefs

Absa Premiership champions Kaizer Chiefs lost  2-1 to Bidvest Wits at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.  Wits had an excellent start with Henrico Botes scoring just six minutes into the game.  The Clever Boys had control and possession of the game, making it impossible for the Glamour Boys to score an equaliser.

However in the 35th minute, Chiefs had a free kick which was taken by Siphiwe Tshabalala, scoring a spectacular goal.  The champions were back in the game and the performance improved.  The match went to half-time 1-1.

In the second stanza the game started off slowly.  AmaKhosi had the possession but were not able to produce any goals.  Then 58 minutes into the game Gavin Hunt’s men counter-attacked taking the ball from the Chiefs half straight to the goal post.

Paseke Sekese scored a header putting his team on the lead.  After scoring that goal, the visitors’ defense became even tighter, making sure they kept the lead.  The Glamour Boys struggled to score an equaliser, leaving Hunt’s charges with a 2-1 win.
