Bidvest Wits won 1-0 against Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership game played at the Bidvest Stadium on Tuesday. Sibusiso Vilakazi scored a winning goal 13 minutes before full-time. The first half was mainly dominated by the Clever Boys.
They played a good game and made it difficult for Sundows to counter attack. During the first half the hosts had 11 shots on goal compared to five by the visitors. The home side had control of the game but they failed to score goals.
The first half ended 0-0. In the second half Wits maintained the control, playing a good game and a strong defence which blocked any chance of the Brazilians scoring. In the 76th minute Vilakazi slotted the ball left footed in the goal assisted by Siyabonga Nhlapho.
The goal pushed Gavin Hunt’s side three points closer to league leaders Kaizer Chiefs. Next Hunt will play his former club SuperSport United.
