West Brom Hold On Against Liverpool

West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool’s match in the Barclays Premier League ended in a dramatic finish as neither teams could manage to break the deadlock on Saturday.

The game got off to a slow start with West Brom looking promising in the early stages. The frustrating first half continued when Steven Gerrard’s free kick in the 26th minute went over the bar. Neither Liverpool nor West Brom were able to make a breakthrough in the first half of the match as the teams went into the break goalless.

After the interval the away side enjoyed most of the possession in the first few minutes, but the keeper blocked two brilliant shots from Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho in the 55th minute. Thereafter the home side had a scoring opportunity of their own, but Gardner’s shot went wide. Gordon Ibe seemed certain to have scored in the 60th minute but saw his shot hit the cross bar. The home side nearly snatched the first goal through James Morrison but the keeper stopped it from going in. Coutinho came close to score the winner but his effort clipped the cross bar as the game ended in a goalless draw.
