Uganda finished in third place in the Netball Diamond Challenge after beating Zambia 59-34 on Friday at the Ugu Sports Centre in Margate. Zambia lost all three pool games against the teams in the competition and ultimately finish fourth place. This is the Ugandans’ second win against Zambia, after they won by 26 goals in their first encounter.
They controlled the game and won all four quarters. Chipolopolo performed to their best ability, however their performance didn’t count in goal scoring. The She Cranes had the upper hand when it came to scoring, leaving a huge gap in between the goal difference, making it impossible for the Zambians to catch up.
Lucy Jere was among a few who performed exceptionally. She won the player of the match award. The Zambians walked away with nothing yet a much better team than the one people are used to and hope to build on this performance.
The way in which they play has improved drastically, however, they still lack in goal scoring and hope to improve in his department going forward.
