Tottenham Hotspur beat Bournemouth 3-0 courtesy of a Harry Kane brace and Christian Eriksen’s strike in an entertaining English Premier League encounter at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon. Kane continued on his good run of form scoring with just 44 seconds on the clock. Hugo Lloris offloaded to Kyle Walker who found Kane on goal and the England international poked the ball beyond the keeper’s reach.
The nightmare start to the encounter continued for the Cherries as they suffered yet another cut from Kane’s sword. In the 16th minute, the 22-year old met with a beautiful Dele Alli pass and placed the ball under Artur Boruc to make it 2-0. Spurs came close to adding a third goal before half-time when in the 44th minute Kane set up Eriksen but the latter failed to connect with the ball and so it was 2-0 at the break.
Six minutes into the second stanza, the Lillywhites struck again. This time Boruc did enough to put at bay Kane’s thunderous shot but Eriksen was there to feast on a rebound and make it 3-0. The Cherries did not see much of the ball even inside the last stages of the encounter.
In the 88th minute, Kane came close to bagging a hat-trick but his effort sailed wide of goal. Eddie Howe’s men were outplayed from the word go and Tottenham continued to try and close in on log leaders Leicester City. Final score, 3-0 in favour of Mauricio Pochettino’s white army.
