Stuart Baxter And Tefu Mashamaite Scoop Coach And Player Of The Month Awards

Local log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs have once again scooped the Absa Premiership Player and Coach of the Month award as defender Tefu Mashamaite and head coach Stuart Baxter take the honours for September and October.  As only a handful of league fixtures took place in September and October the awards were merged for the two months into a joint accolade and Baxter and Mashamaite will each receive R5000 for their efforts during this period that has seen Chiefs set the pace at the top of the log.  Amakhosi, led by Baxter, who remain unbeaten in 10 league matches this season, won three matches and drew one fixture during the judging period.

Mashamaite, meanwhile, has been a critical component to the team’s defence and has played a crucial leadership role in the absence of club captain Itumeleng Khune.  Amakhosi have made a record-breaking start to the Premiership season and clearly have their sights firmly set on winning another top flight title.
