Spurs Sink Newcastle

There were patches of empty seats at St James Park as Newcastle United lost 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in a catchy English Premier League encounter on Sunday.  Tons of fans decided against attending the match to push their anti-Mike Ashley agenda.  Spurs had a bright start to the match and looked promising while Spurs seemed to flirt with danger.

The guests dominated proceedings and were rewarded in the 30th minute through Nacer Chadli. John Carver’s men failed to find their groove inside the opening half as the visitors continued to have it all easy throughout the half however a second goal proved hard to come by.  Despite a positive display by the hosts, Spurs led 1-0 at the break.  A minute from the restart Carver saw his troops leveling matters through Jack Colback.

The 25-year old feasted on a rebound and made no mistake from the near post. It didn’t take long for the hosts to be on the back foot again, this time Christian Eriksen was the perpetrator.  The Danish maestro found himself at the right place in the 53rd minute to slice the ball home.  Nabil Bantaleb and Harry Kane were turning things around for Spurs but nothing came of their efforts.

It was a Spurs show late in the match and Harry Kane finally found his goal in the 90th minute to make it 3-1 as Tottenham bagged maximum points and further fueled off-field quarrels on Tyneside.
