Simon Harmer Added To Proteas Squad

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has named Chevrolet Warriors off-spinner, Simon Harmer, as an addition to the Proteas Test squad for the final Test match against the West Indies which starts at Newlands on Friday.  “We would like to have the option of a second spinner in the squad,” commented CSA selection convener, Andrew Hudson.  If Harmer gains selection he will be the 86th player to represent South Africa in the five-day format.

Heavy overnight rain and a wet outfield prevented any play on the final day of the second Test at St. George’s Park.  The match thus ended in a draw.  The hosts retain the Sir Vivian Richards Trophy as they can no longer lose the series.
