Sharks Name XV For Cheetahs Clash

The Sharks have named their match day squad for the Vodacom Super Rugby visit of the Cheetahs on Saturday in Durban.  The match kicks off at 17:05 and Cell C Sharks director of rugby Gary Gold says, “The Cheetahs for me are one of the most dangerous sides to play against and on their day they have the ability to beat any team.  We are expecting a physical battle against a well-coached team, who have some exciting young players in their squad.”

Gold has named SP Marais at fullback with S’bura Sithole and Lwazi Mvovo on the wings.  Heimar Williams and Waylon Murray are the centres with the half-back pairing consisting of Patrick Lambie and Cobus Reinach.  “Our guys have prepared well for the tournament and there is a fantastic spirit in the camp.  We want to play an exciting brand of rugby that our fans expect and score tries.  The only way to win matches is to score tries and to score tries you need to keep the ball in hand.  Our players are determined and will give nothing less than 100% effort on the park,” said Gold.

Currie Cup captain Tera Mtembu is at eighthman with Renaldo Bothma and Marcell Coetzee completing the loose trio.  Mouritz Botha and Pieter-Steph Du Toit will scrum down behind Tendai Mtawarira, Bismarck Du Plessis and Jannie Du Plessis.  Bismarck will skipper the side.
