The Sharks beat the Free State Cheetahs 19-16 in a tight Absa Currie Cup Premier Division clash in Durban on Saturday. Fred Zeilinga sealed the victory for the Cell C Sharks with a well taken spot kick. The Toyota Free State Chetaahs led 13-3 at the break but a great display by the Durbanites saw them winning the match at the end.
The hosts’ comeback started with a Zeilinga penalty in the 42nd minute to make it 13-6. From there on Zeilinga added another penalty in the 58th minute keeping his side in the game. Tonderai Chavhanga scored a game changing try to level matters in the 68th minute and Zeilinga converted.
As the match looked settled at 16-all, Brad MacLeod-Henderson’s side took a last bite at the cherry with yet another Zeilinga three-pointer to make it 19-16 and winning it for the Sharks in a dramatic ending to the match with the Bloemfontein boys camping in the home 22.
