Novak Djokovic will face world number one Rafael Nadal in Sunday’s Rome Masters final. Djokovic won against Milos Raonic on Saturday in the Italian capital in the semi-finals. The Serb triumped 6-7 (5), 7-6 (4), 6-3. Rafael Nadal thrased Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-2 in the second semi-final.
The WTA is holing a parallel tournament in the Eternal City. Hometown heroine Sara Errani will take on Serea Williams in Sunday’s final. Errani is the first Italian player to reach the final after nearly 30 years. The last Italian player to win was Adriano Panatta in 1976.
She stopped Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 7-5. Williams needed three sets to defeat 11th seed Ana Ivanovic 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. The American won her first title in Italy in 2002 and last year again and will be gunning for a third title.
