Rory Duncan has been promoted to Free State Cheetahs Director of Rugby. In a statement Cheetahs Managing Director Harold Verster on Friday announced Duncan’s promotion. It was also announced that Duncan was appointed in the position of second in command of the Company. The position was vacant for a long time.
As Director of Rugby, Duncan will manage the biggest department in the company; which includes all administrative- and strategic aspects in rugby. It includes all teams from under-19 to Super Rugby, the Academy, the medical-, training- and gymnasium facilities as well as recruitment and contracting of all players. Besides this, the department also handles all clothing, travel arrangements and public projects and plans of all teams.
Verster says: ‘Over the last two years, Duncan have done a great job and is ideally suited for the new position. I’m looking forward to the road ahead together with Duncan in the years to follow.’
