South African Olympic triathlete, Richard Murray is looking forward to lining up with some of the world’s best road runners at the inaugural FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN on Sunday, 17 May 2015. Murray says: ‘I don’t usually find running races that I can take part in. The FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN will be something different for me, something fun. I have heard that the race will be fast with a few top Kenyan and Ethiopian athletes running up front. My goal will be to run a 2:50/km for 12km. I will be really happy with a top 20 finish.’ Murray stunned the XTERRA community in 2013 when he claimed gold at his first ever XTERRA Race, the TOTALSPORTS XTERRA South African Championship presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT.
Murray will head to London at the end of May to take part in the ITU World Triathlon. Excitement builds as Cape Town prepares to host what is sure to become one of the largest and most celebrated sporting events in South Africa, the much-anticipated FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN.
Although online entries have closed, late entries will still be accepted at number collection only.
No entries on the day. All FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN entrants stand an equal chance to win a zippy Opel Adam in the “Win an Opel Adam with REEDS” competition. The winner will be drawn at the start line of the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN on a lucky draw basis and must be present to claim his/her prize.
