Real Madrid beat Schalke 04 2-0 at the Veltins Arena on Wednesday night in their Uefa Champions League Last 16 clash. In the second half the visitors were looking to continue where they left off whereas the home side were looking for the equalising goal. In the 62nd minute Kevin-Prince Boateng missed a chance to score as his shot went high.
In the 69th minute Boateng’s right-footed shot was saved by Casillas in the bottom left corner before Felix Platte hit the bar in 74th minute as Real Madrid survived a scare. It all changed again in the 79th minute when a right footed shot from Marcelo from outside the box went inside the goal post to put the away side out of sight at 2-0.
