Puttick Suspended For Two Matches

Andrew Puttick has been found guilty of Clause 6.3.1 (a) of the CSA Code of Conduct and has been suspended for two matches, one of which is suspended for one calendar year.  This makes him ineligible for selection for the Cape Cobras’ Momentum One-Day Cup match against the Knights to be played at the Mangaung Oval on Tuesday, 16 February 2016.  CSA Disciplinary Commissioner Professor Rian Cloete says:  ‘I have taken into account the fact that Mr Puttick admitted the offence and has accepted that his behaviour was inappropriate.  Therefore, having taken all factors into account, it is important that an effective penalty be imposed and that it is fundamentally important for disciplinary action to correct behaviour.  In the circumstances I am satisfied that the appropriate penalty in respect of this offence, which is a level 2 offence, is a suspension for two matches, of which one (1) match is suspended for one calendar year.’

Somila Seyibokwe has been found guilty Clause 6.2.1 © of the CSA Code of Conduct and has been suspended for one match.  This makes him ineligible for selection for Border’s Sunfoil Cup Provincial 3-day match against Boland to be played at Buffalo Park from Thursday, 18 February to Saturday, 20 February 2016.  Professor Cloete says:  ‘I have taken into account the fact that Mr Seyibokwe admitted the offence and has accepted that his behaviour was inappropriate.  Therefore, having taken all factors into account, it is important that an effective penalty be imposed and that it is fundamentally important for disciplinary action to correct behaviour.  In the circumstances I am satisfied that the appropriate penalty in respect of this offence, which offence has been elevated to a level 2 offence as it is a repetition of the same breach within one calendar year, is a suspension for one (1) match, but without the need, in addition, to impose a fine.’
