The South Gauteng High Court at 13:15 on Saturday afternoon struck the urgent application brought by AmaZulu FC and Moroka Swallows FC against the Premier Soccer League to interdict and stop the Promotion Play-off fixtures from the roll and ordered AmaZulu FC and Moroka Swallows FC to pay the League’s cost of opposition.
The PSL CEO, Brand De Villiers confirmed that the Promotion Play-offs will kick-off as scheduled this weekend. De Villiers says: ‘We are pleased with the decision by the High Court because we can now carry on with the Promotion Play-offs as scheduled. The League has always been of the view that the investigations into the allegations of misconduct have no bearing to the Promotional Play-off fixtures. Unfortunately, because of the application by AmaZulu FC and Moroka Swallows FC, the Prosecutor, who is conducting the internal investigation, had to divert his attention to the High Court process thus delaying the internal investigation.
