A solitary second half strike from Jason Puncheon sealed a 1-0 victory for Crystal Palace over Norwich City in the English Premier League at Selhurst Park on Saturday. A fairly uneventful first half saw neither side able to break the deadlock. Both sides tried very hard to find a way through but to no avail.
The best chances of the half however did fall to the hosts when Puncheon, who found himself in some space in the area, was off balance and missed the target completely. In the second stanza it was a scrappy contest as the Canaries and Eagles went in search of that opening goal to take control of this game and spark it into life. As the hour mark approached it looked like the Selhurst Park side was edging ahead in this encounter and that they did in the 68th minute when Puncheon made no mistake converting his chance by curling it past John Ruddy to make it 1-0.
The two sides gave it a proper go in the closing stages hoping to draw level or extend their lead but neither was able to as Alan Pardew’s players ran out 1-0 victors to record their tenth win of the season.
