The Absa Premiership match between Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu ended in a 1-1 draw at Orlando Stadiun on Wednesday night. Both teams were looking for full maximum points after picking up just one point in their opening two matches. During the first ten minutes the Buccaneers enjoyed much of the possession.
After twenty minutes it was still 0-0 with both teams not creating clear chances. In the 27th minute Usuthu were awarded a penalty after Rooi Mahamutsa’s mistake and Bongani Ndulula made no mistake. Craig Rosslee’s men were one-up and the match went to half-time with the same score.
In the second half the Sea Robbers were looking to turn things around as they were behind by a goal and they brought on Sifiso Myeni for Issa Sarr. They would eventually net their equaliser thanks to Thabo Matlaba. Pirates continued to threaten the visiting defence as they were looking for the second goal.
In the 79th minute Kermit Erasmus had a shot on target but his effort was straight at Tapuwa Kapini as Rosslee’s side managed to leave Orlando with a 1-1 draw.
