Novak Djokovic And Roger Federer Through To Third Round At Roland Garros

Serbian world number two Novak Djokovic made his way through to the third round after beating Frenchman Jeremy Chardy 6-1, 6-4, 6-1 at Roland Garros in Paris on Wednesday.  The former world number one eased through the first round by thumping the Portuguese Joao Sousa 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 on Monday, just like local Jeremy Chardy, who came through by sweeping off the Spanish international Daniel Gimeno-Traver 7-5, 6-2, 6-2.  Djokovic faces Marin Cilic in the third round.

Meanwhile Tomas Berdych eased past Ukrainian Oleksandr Nedovyesov with a 4-7, 6-7, 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 win to make it to the third round at the Roland Garros.  2009 Roland Garros champion Roger Federer also moved into the third round after beating Argentine Diego Sebastian Schwartzman 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.  The Swiss star will be looking make it to the final of the tournament since he has not reached a Major final since winning his 17th Major title at Wimbledon in 2012.

Canada’s Milos Raonic is also through the third round.  Raonic stopped Jiri Vesely in straight sets 7-6, 6-4, 6-1 on the red dirt in the French capital.
