Nigeria beat Sudan 3-1 in an Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015 qualifier in Abuja on Wednesday. The Super Eagles started off the game and were in trouble when Abd El Gadir tried to score but the Nigerians stopped him at his tracks. Although it was raining, the hosts did not give up on scoring a goal although it was it was El Gadir who managed to evade the defence before the break but failed to score a goal, as his shot was far off.
No team scored in the first half. Stephen Keshi’s side were soon in the lead after just three second half minutes thanks to a goal from Ahmed Musa. The Sudanese did not back down as Salah Ibrahim equalised matters just eight minutes later.
However in the 65th minute Aaron Samuel scored the second goal for Keshi’s side to restore the advantage. The visitors sought an equaliser but a late second strike by Musa was enough to wrap up all three points for Nigeria, who move about Sudan to third on the Group A log.
