A solitary Aubrey Ngoma goal helped Mpumalanga Black Aces beat Jomo Cosmos and advance to the Nedbank Cup last eight on Saturday afternoon at the Mbombela Stadium. It took just six minutes for the deadlock to be broken as Ngoma gave the home side the lead after some wonderful work by Dino Ndlovu. The game proved to be a dull affair as both teams posed little threat to each other and there was no clear cut chances until Ndlovu nearly doubled Aces’ advantage but his effort went wide off the mark.
Miguel Timm would almost give the home side another goal but he blasted his shot wide off the target. It would be that early Ngoma strike that would send Ezenkosi packing from the Nedbank Cup and send Amazayoni to the next round. It is a good end to a tumultous week for the Nelspruit club after Clive Barker was redeployed from his position as head coach following a string of poor results.
