Mamelodi Sundowns Sink Swallows

Mamelodi Sundowns made a clean sweep against Moroka Swallows in the Absa Premiership at Lucas “Masterpieces”Moripe Stadium on Tuesday.  The game ended with a marvellous score of 4-1.   Downs took the lead in the 13th minute after Alje Schut scored the first goal.  The strike was followed by a second goal less than two minutes later courtesy of a header by Cuthbert Malajila which kept the Sundowns supporters up on their feet, singing and waving flags.
The two goals were followed by two more in a short space of time.  The third was a mere tap-in by Malajila 22 minutes in the game.  Teko Modise scored the fourth and final goal in an incredible set piece from an almost impossible distance after 25 minutes.
In the first half Swallows lacked creativity and their defence was non-existent thus allowing the hosts to score goals without any difficulties.  One minute before the end of the first half, Luyolo Nomandela managed to net a penalty to put Fani Madida’s side on the board.  There would be no second half goals but the Brazilians had about 1o goal attempts; eight on target but nothing to show for it.
The Dube Birds showed far more aggression and put in a better performance but still came away with a 4-1 beating.
