Liverpool beat Ludogorets 2-1 at Anfield in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday. The Reds kicked off but Roman Bezjak won the first free kick for the visitors. The hosts received a free kick for offside against the Bulgarians which was taken by Mario Balotelli but the Italian failed to score.
Alex Aleksamdrov received a yellow card for a bad foul. Fouls and free kicks had been flying up and down and the first half ended 0-0. The second half started with a saved attempt as Brendan Rodgers’ side pressed for the opener.
Javier Manquillo tried to score but the attempt was too high. Junior Caicare received a yellow card before Balotelli scored the first goal of the game with only eight minutes left to play. It was high drama from that moment on as in the last minute Dani Abalo scored the equalising goal for the visitors.
Who else but Steven Gerrard was destined to pop up and score the winning goal for the home side?
