Roggert Nyundu’s first half goal aided a 1-0 win and a sit at the top of the National First Division promotion play-off’s against Moroka Swallows on Sunday, at Thohoyandou Stadium. A crucial game resulted in only one team, Black Leopards, walking away with three points. Zeca Marques’ men had control of the first half, they dominated in both pass rate and ball possession.
Craig Rosslee’s men struggled to gain control of the ball but they did make sure that their defence was on par. They played a very tactical game. In the 33rd minute, Nyundu changed the atmosphere in the field by scoring a spectacular goal.
He brought life to the crowd at Thohoyandou and a lead for his team. An action packed first half, went to the break with Lidoda Duvha leading with 1-0. Luyolo Nomandela almost scored an equaliser in the first minute of the second half but it was not to be.
Rosslee’s men owned the second half, yet no goals came out of it. Leopards missed multiple chances of scoring goals, but the biggest chance was that of Sphelele Ntshangase in the 94th minute. Ntshangase missed a goal after dribbling his way past the keeper.
Even though Marques’ men left the field smiling, their luck might change after the Wednesday game between Jomo Cosmos and Moroka Swallows. But it remains to be seen.
