Leo Santa Cruz is more than ready to defend his WBC super bantamweight against Jesus “Estrellita” Ruiz, as part of card headed by the WBC heavyweight clash of Bermane Stiverne and Deontay Wilder. The bout will take place at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. Santa Cruz treated fans to a highly impressive public training session, organized by Don King Productions and Golden Boy Promotions, where he was also interviewed.
Santa Cruz, 26, insists he’s not overconfident, but he has already set his sights on conquering five world titles in different divisions. With a record of 28-0, 16 KO´s and one draw, Santa Cruz explained that for the moment he’s not thinking in climbing up into the featherweight division. However, if he gets the chance of fighting against the champion Jhonny Gonzalez he will do it.
Challenger Jesus Ruiz, dourly commented he’s undergone an excellent and grueling preparation. He’s also stressing he’ll give absolutely everything and then some, to become the new Champion.
