The Knights are ready to defend and enhance the reputation of the central franchise region as they depart for the Global Softech Sixes taking place at SuperSport Park in Centurion from the 4 – 5 September.  This marks the start of the 2014/15 season.  Sarel Cilliers, head coach of the Chevrolet Knights, is excited and optimistic about what can be expected of the team this season, “We have a healthy mix of youth and experience in the current Chevrolet Knights squad.  This means that the team will be able to utilise several different angles of energy and awareness.  It is a positive space to be in.  The team has also got an opportunity to explore various new competitions in all formats.  This is something that will add energy and surprise factors.  A good team culture is key to the success of this franchise and with various new faces in the make-up, the opportunity is there for the team to carry out the culture, habits and processes that enhance the team’s performance.  From a performance point of view I would like to see our senior players lead by example as this will spark a team effort that will inspire special match-winning performances.”

Cilliers congratulated Werner Coetsee on his appointment as the new captain, “Werner Coetsee has been a leader in most of the teams he has played in.  His appointment is proof of what can be achieved through hard work, commitment and perseverance.  His style is to the point, energetic in simplicity and very much directional in adaptation of the devise skills and personalities that need to be put together, something that I believe he is very capable of.  I look forward to the season with Werner in charge and Pite Van Biljon as his vice-captain.  Their strengths should complement our drive and direction.”
