Key Fast Bowlers Return For Dolphins, Titans

The Dolphins will be boosted by the return of senior pacemen Robbie Frylinck and Craig Alexander as they head into the second half of a six-week Sunfoil Series marathon.  Fatigue is one of the biggest concerns as the Dolphins attempt to stay in the title race during a stretch in which they play six games in as many weeks, but coach Lance Klusener can report a healthy stable of fast bowlers for Thursday’s clash with The Unlimited Titans at SuperSport Park.  Klusener said:  ‘We’re halfway through the six games so it gets tough from now on.  We’ve been lucky to have a very young bowling attack and most of them weren’t on duty for the one-day stuff so that’s helped a bit.  We’ll have guys coming back from injuries so if we need to make changes then we can do that.  We’re in there with a chance but we have three tough games against some good teams.  I guess how we go in the next two games will decide what happens.’

With less than two points separating the Dolphins in second and the Titans in third, and with both teams trailing the Lions by the length of a match victory, this clash could effectively decide who will challenge the league leaders over the final two games.  The Titans will be boosted by the return of Marchant De Lange for what captain Henry Davids admits is a “must-win game”, but the Titans won’t be looking for a seam-friendly pitch now that the fast bowler is back.  Davids said:  ‘You want to have a good wicket – you don’t want the two teams to get out for not many runs because in order to catch up with the Lions we still need the extra bonus points from batting.  You want some assistance for the bowlers and the batters.’
