Jhonny Gonzalez Wants Action-Packed 2015

No doubts that 2014 was a highly productive year for Jhonny Gonzalez, who successfully defend his WBC featherweight championship against Clive Atwell  and Mexican Jorge Arce.  “It was a great year.  We closed it exceptionally with two bouts- one against Jorge Arce, in a fight that boosted my popularity and made me grow as boxer, as I earned the respect and love of the fans.  I hope that I have even more fights in 2015 against great rivals,” said Gonzalez.  Recalling  the fight against “ Travieso”  in October, Jhonny explained: “I didn’t punish him, as  a lot of people were expecting, and it won me lots of new supporters.”

Weanwhile, WBC super featherweight champion wants, Takashi Miura, wants Gonzalez to be his fifth Mexican rival in a row.  Miura won his title against Gamaliel “Platano” Díaz, in Tokyo, Japan and the he has successfully defended it against Sergio Thompson, Dante Jardon and Edgar Puerta.  During his attendance at the WBC Convention in Las Vergas, Nevada, Miura (28-2-2, 21 KO´s) insisted, “I want to fight against the best.”

According to the Gonzalez, Miura then commented, “Of course I am interested fighting against him.  He is a great champion.”
