The Highveld Lions are taking their momentum from their victory against the Warriors into the Momentum One-Day Cup battle they face in Durban come this Wednesday night. “Coming off the high from the run chase in their match on Friday evening, I think the Sunfoil Dolphins could be dangerous opponents. They are always a challenging side to face but I think we are up for the challenge and we are keen to get our traveling shoes on and compete to the best of our abilities in this format. We have taken some momentum from our first game but this is a busy week with games coming thick and fast. If we can get on a roll then we can rack up quite a number of points in a short period of time,” commented captain Stephen Cook. The team might have lost Aaron Phangiso and Quinton De Kock as they head off to New Zealand and Australia on national duty but some injury recoveries strengthen the team for the challenge ahead.
Geoffrey Toyana, bizhub Highveld Lions Head Coach, feels that the team is well-rounded for the coming match, “We welcome back Alviro Petersen, Eddie Leie and Chris Morris who are all fit for the match. Three quality players give us the depth we need when our players represent us at national level.”
