WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack, and his British rival George Groves, had an intense “face to face” upon arrival at the MGM in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Groves (21-2-KO16), who has been training for two months in Big Bear, California, and has declare himself ready to become the new WBC champion and dethrone Jack (19-1-1 KO12), who is part of Mayweather Team Promotions. The Brit had two goes at the super middleweight title but was stopped on both occasions by freshly-retired Carl Froch.
Groves says: ‘Fighting in Las Vegas is exciting. It is a big challenge to fight for the best championship belt of the world and this is a great motivation for me.’ In response Jack says: ‘This will be a close fight. I know the quality of my opponent but I am superior in many ways. I’m 110% sure that I will retain my world title!’
