Garbine Muguruza defeated Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the 2015 Wimbledon Ladies’ Singles Final on Centre Court in London on Thursday. Muguruza broke Radwanska in the first game of the opening set taking her to deuce on two occasions. She then consolidated to take a two game lead in the first set.
The Spaniard continued on her wonderful run at this tournament racing to a 5-1 lead. Radwanska saved two set points to make her opponent serve for the set. The 20th seed saw out her service game and took the first stanza in 34 minutes. The Barcelona native carried her momentum into the second breaking the Pole in the opening game of the second set.
However in the sixth game she let a few errors creep in and was broken by the 13th seed. Radwanska staged a comeback winning five games in a row to the take the second set 6-3. In the final set both players aimed to serve well and waited for their opportunity to break the other.
Inn the sixth game it was the Spanish international that got the break to take a 4-2 lead. The 21-year old held her nerve and consolidated her break to stretch ahead to a 5-2 lead in the final set. In the ninth game after two hours Muguruza took the match to set up a meeting against either Serena Williams or Maria Sharapova.
