Middleweight maestro “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler says boxing fans worldwide deserve to finally see and savour the long-anticipated fight between Floyd Mayweather and Many Pacquiao. Hagler says, “I don’t think it’s too attractive right now for me. I feel that we had Pacquiao being tested already and stopped, so I think the favour goes a little more to Mayweather. Boxing is a very difficult game and very strange and weird. So anything can happen with the right promotion. They’ll probably get it going and make that two hundred million!” The American shared his thoughts on how the bout could pan out but added whoever wins it, has to be fair and grant the rematch if it’s a good and a close fight, because he himself didn’t get the rematch he wanted, “Let’s not go there! But I believe the public deserves that…if it happens.”
Meanwhile, the World Boxing Council says it will proactively help in the ongoing process to realize the long awaited and eagerly anticipated mega fight between WBC welterweight and the Filipino. In the Mandatory Defences Committee meeting, at the WBC’s 52nd convention at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman praised Mayweather for his brilliant fifteen years as a champion, winning green and gold belts in five categories and becoming the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
Mayweather and Jose Sulaiman were due to meet to discuss the situation about his two Championships tenure. But this wasn’t possible because of Sulaiman’s surgery and passing. Now Mayweather is saying that he wants the fight with Pacquiao to happen and Mauricio Sulaiman said, “We have to see the way how we can participate. We have been public about this. We have produced no obstacles.”
