Farhaan Behardien To Skipper South Africa Sixes

Farhaan Behardien will captain the South African team to take part in the Global Softech African Sixes Challenge which starts at SuperSport Park on Saturday.  The other competing countries are Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.  Behardien, who has represented the Proteas in both ODI and T20 International cricket, has just completed a successful tour of Australia with the South Africa A side and has been a star performer for The Unlimited Titans in the Franchise Sixes Challenge.  “Sixes cricket is very different from the T20 format.  We are specifically looking for players who can clear the boundary and this competition also provides them with the opportunity to display their temperament to compete under pressure in an international event.  Virtually every player in our squad is an all-rounder and we are looking for players who can excel both with bat and ball,” commented Cricket South Africa (CSA) selection convener, Andrew Hudson.

SA squad: Farhaan Behardien (Titans, capt), Cameron Delport (Sunfoil Dolphins), Robbie Frylinck (Dolphins), Chris Morris (bizhub Highveld Lions), Mangaliso Mosehle (Titans), David Wiese (Titans), Khayelihle Zondo (Dolphins).
Manager/Coach: Mandla Mashimbyi
