Everton played out a 2-2 draw against Leicester City in an English Premier League match at Goodison Park on Sunday. In the first half, both teams started slow and no one scored though there were a few attempts. Leicester was however pushing for goals as they had more shots.
After 31 minutes Andrej Kramaric had a chance for the Foxes but his shot from the left side of the box was blocked. Romelu Lukaku also tried a shot from the centre of the box but his attempt was also blocked. The first half ended with the teams still deadlocked.
In the second half, both teams came out in full force aiming for goals. The first goal came from the Toffees in the 57th minute. Steven Naismith’s right-footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom left corner was assisted by Lukaku. Six minutes later Leicester levelled when David Nugent’s right-footed shot from very close range found the bottom right corner.
Assisted by Jamie Vardy, Esteban Cambiasso left footed shot from the centre of the box to put Nigel Pearson’s side in front. Roberto Martinez’s men attempted a few shots on goal with no success until with two minutes left, Matt Upson scored an own goal for the clash to end 2-2.
