Crystal Palace Held By Swansea

Crystal Palace moved close to the top four after a 0-0 draw with Swansea City at Selhurst Park for the final English Premier League game for these two sides in 2015.  Palace started the game decently with an effort by Yohan Cabaye.  Scott Dann assisted Cabaye with a good ball but the Frenchman’s effort went sky high from his right foot.

30 minutes into the game and Cabaye assisted Mile Jedinak but the Australian headed the ball to the right side.  The first half was quiet for both teams but the Eagles created better chances.  Even so it was still level at the break.

Three minutes into the second half Bafetimbi Gomis struck a powerful left foot shot but his attempt was blocked by the Palace defence.  In the 53rd minute what looked like a good chance for the first goal of the game came Cabaye’s way.  The midfield playmaker made another assist to Dann who was in the centre of the box but headed wide.

Moduo Barrow of Swansea had an attempt with his left foot but the shot was too easy for the home defence to deal with.  In the 81st minute Alan Pardew’s players failed to score what looked like the best chance of the game when Jedinak assisted Jordon Mutch with a slick ball.

Mutch was outside the box and used his right foot to send the ball towards the goal net but the it would go wide to the right.  Next for the London club will be a trip to Chelsea on Sunday while the Swans will be away to  Manchester United on Saturday.
