Cosmos Upset Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have suffered their fourth successive defeat after being beaten 1-0 by Jomo Cosmos in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday evening at the FNB Stadium.  Cosmos were looking to redeem themselves after being thrashed 5-0 by Orlando Pirates and successfully did so after beating the Soweto giants.  Amakhosi had the majority of chances throughout the match but nothing materialised from their attempts.

It was not only that they could not find the back of the net but Ezenkosi were defending extremely well, clearly being cautious after what happened in their last match in the Premiership.  Jomo Sono’s side scored late, in the 85th minute, through Mxolisi Macuphu’s wonderful left footed goal into the top corner of the net from a distance.  The pressure is mounting on coach Steve Komphela, after yet another loss, despite having the better half of the possession and number of shots at goal.

Macuphu was awarded man of the match as Sono’s soldiers temporarily relieved themselves of some of the relegation fight pressure while putting another dent in the Glamour Boys’ title hopes.
