Chiefs Sink Sundowns

A last minute goal from Bernard Parker ensured a 1-0 win for Kaizer Chiefs against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, on Wednesday.  The first half was partially entertaining.  Sundowns had the upper hand but no goals to show for it. The Glamour Boys’ defence was tight making sure that no goal went through.

Dennis Onyango was a spectator the entire half.  The best opportunity came when Teko Modise perfectly laid the ball to Mzikayise Mashaba who hit it wide.  The match went to half-time 0-0.

The second half started quietly with both teams sitting back.  Siyanda Zwane received a red card late in the game after two cautions.  He will miss the games against Free State Stars, Platinum Stars and SuperSport United.

In the last minute of the game Parker slid in to score a goal from a Reneilwe Letsholonyane cross.  Parker pounced on the errors made by the Sundowns defence leading to the goal.  Chiefs pocketed three points and now they are currently standing on 66 points and still in sight of a 16-team league record points tally.
