Chelsea’s Blues

Chelsea Football Club is one of the oldest teams in the English Premier League.  Founded in March 1905 the Blues call Stamford Bridge home.  Jose Mourinho is always under pressure as a manager for his team to perform well.

With a long list of achievements the London club looks to make this season a fruitful one as they finished third in the Premier League in the 2013-14 season.  The transfer window saw Mourinho opting for players with power and pace that matched his counter-attacking style.  Moves began last year as they were joined by players such as Andre Schurrle, Willian, Juan Mata, Kevin De Bruyne, Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah.

Other players that find themselves on the Chelsea books this year are Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Didier Drogba.  The Blues may also be signing Juventus player Paul Pogba even though his contract with Juve is set to run until June 2016.  Players that found themselves out of Stamford Bridge, include David Luiz, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Samuel Eto’o, Henrique Hilario, Jhon Pirez, Adam Nditi, Sam Hutchinson, Demba Ba, Patrick Van Aanholt, Milan Lalkovic, Romelu Lukaku, Isak Ssewankambo, Daniel Pappoe and George Cole.

Mourinho’s men will kick off their season at newly-promoted Burnley on Monday, 18 August.
