Chelsea missed a chance to go top of the English Premier League table playing to a goalless draw with Norwich City on Sunday. As a result, the Canaries have given themselves an outside shot at surviving the relegation drop. The Blues had a chance from Andre Schurrle early on when he took a shot from outside the box but it went wide.
The visitors had a great chance when Martin Olsson latched onto a ball from Bradley Johnson but his shot was saved by Mark Schwarzer. The game ebbed and flowed as both teams searched for a breakthrough. Chelsea had the best chance to get on the scoreboard through Schurrle once more but his attempt hit the post with both teams heading into the half time break scoreless.
In the second the Londoners continued to put pressure on their opponents with chances from Willian, Schurrle and David Luiz all failing to find the target. Neil Adams’ side had a good chance through Robert Snodgrass when he found himself onside in the home side’s half but his shot was blocked by a backtracking Gary Cahill for a corner with the game ending in a goalless draw. Jose Mourinho must now accept league glory is out of his hands. Mourinho’s men are a point behind Manchester City and Liverpool having played an extra game to boot.
