An Eden Hazard strike helped Chelsea to a narrow 1-0 victory over Manchester United in their English Premier League encounter on Saturday. It was the visitors who had an early chance to take the lead when Wayne Rooney fired one in from the edge of the box but just managed to send it past the post. The men in red had the bulk of the opportunities and possession spending large amounts of time in their hosts area.
Unfortunately for them a lovely one-two between Oscar and Hazard was their first attempt on goal and it was smoothly put through David De Gea’s legs to hand the hosts the lead. The visiting side took their foot of the gas at that point and went into the break a goal down. After the break the Blues showed some positive momentum going forward and put their opponents under some pressure.
The Red Devils continued pushing on and had a great chance when Radamel Falcao beat the offside trap and found himself behind the home side’s defence but could only hit the outside of the post with his chance. Jose Mourinho’s charges continued to push the men from Manchester and saw out the additional time as they took a step closer to the title.
