Chelsea remain seven points clear at the top of the English Premier League table after beating Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Brazilian midfielder Willian scored a brilliant half-volley in this encounter to ensure all three points for the hosts. The first half was one sided with the Blues having many chances with the debutant Juan Cuadrado causing much of the trouble.
The match was intense, both Jose Mourinho’s men and the Toffees had strong defences. In the second half, the match was more intense as both teams had crucial chances. Romelu Lukaku had the best chance, missing at point blank range before Mourinho’s side grabbed the late win on 89 minutes.
Chelsea had 21 shots on goal and Everton only had seven.
