Bloemfontein Celtic fought back to draw 2-2 against the University of Pretoria at the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium on Sunday in the Absa Premiership. The game started well, tightly contested between two sides. It did change, however, when Denver Mukamba slotted a header resulting from a corner kick.
Soon after taking the lead, the visitors gained enormous confidence. Their defence was intact and well organised. Though Celtic dominated with ball possession, their dominance was absent at the goal post. In the 26th minute, given too much space, Geoffrey Massa tapped the second goal in to increase the lead.
The hosts came back more eager and determined, taking full control of the game in the second stanza. AmaTuks also remained diligent in their defence. The away side’s joy was cut short in the second half when the hosts scored their first goal of the match by Bevan Fransman.
In the 58th minute, Lerato Lamola scored an equaliser making the score 2-2. The game became one of two halves as Tuks did exceptionally well in the first half before throwing their lead. The score remained 2-2 as the referee blew the whistle.
