I am by nature a passionate person particularly when it comes to helping people recover from pain or achieve a quality of life they never thought was possible. My other passion is sports especially ball and board sports. Therefore becoming a Biokineticist was the obvious choice of career for me.
I did my BSc Honors degree in Biokinetics at the Sports Science Institute in Cape Town and then went overseas to gain valuable experience and insights from leading osteopaths, physiotherapists and neurosurgeons. I then returned to Cape Town and became a professional Pilates instructor.
Over the last 10 years, working with the body, I have been observing the physical affects exercises have on the body and joints and have made some discoveries about which exercises are the most powerful and safest when it comes to helping people who want to engage in sport
I believe the human body is fearfully and wonderfully made and that the secret to enhancing sports performance, recovering from injuries and getting into good physical shape is learning how to use your body the way it was designed to be used. The purpose of this blog is to educate you on how to use your body and to restore and activate your body’s natural core systems.
