Bloemfontein Celtic beat Roses United 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Free State Stadium and progress to the Last 16 of the 2015 Nedbank Cup. Celtic went ahead in the third minute with an own goal from Tumelo Tlou after a deflection from Postnet Omony as the visitors were behind almost immediately. Roses dominated in ball possession but in the 20th minute a long ball from Bongani Mpandle found Joel Mogorosi who chipped the ball over Omony and made it 2-0.
The home side almost scored a third goal but United’s defence cleared the ball on the line. The visitors were looking
to create more clear chances but failed to trouble Mpandle as the match went to half-time 2-0. In the second half the lower-tier club was looking to create clear cut chances but the home side managed to protect their 2-0 lead.
In the 70th minutes Lethola Mofokeng was replaced by former Kaizer Chiefs player Dominic Matheba as they were looking to add numbers upfront. Omony made a good save from Romeo Maasdorp’s effort as they conceded a corner. In the 90th minute Mogorosi scored his brace to wrap up a good 3-0 win for Phunya Sele Sele.
