Bidvest Wits failed to secure a win at home after playing out a 1-1 with the University of Pretoria in their second Absa Premiership clash at Bidvest Stadium. The visitors greeted Wits with an early goal by Atusaye Nyondo in the fourth minute.
Its didn’t take long for Gavin Hunt’s boys to react but Sibusiso Vilakazi’s free kick was blocked by Washington Arubi to deny the Clever Boys an equalizer. Wits continued to dominate the game in the first half with nothing to show. Henrico Botes gave the home side a hope when he scored an equaliser on 58 minutes.
The hosts could have doubled their advantage with Christopher Katongo’s header but Arubi pulled off a massive save. The game produced more yellow cards then goals, with Wits going home with two and AmaTuks collecting four. Steven Barker’s side even ended the game with 10 man after Siyabonga Ngubane was shown his second yellow card of the game.
In the end it finished as a 1-1 draw.
