Barcelona beat Paris Saint -Germain 3-1 to top the Uefa Champions League Group F on Wednesday night. The victory ensures the Blaugrana will enjoy a more favourable draw, if there is such a thing, in Monday’s Last 16 draw. Group winners avoid one another in the first knockout stage of the competition.
However it was not all Barca at the Nou Camp. Former Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave PSG an early lead on 15 minutes as Les Parisiens showed ambitions of their own to win the group. However, it did not take long for the home side to respond.
Luis Suarez sent his marker across towards the far post where Lionel Messi slotted the ball into the back of the net to level matters. Neymar gave Luis Enrique’s men control of the game in the 42nd minute with 20-yard strike that gave Salvatore Sirigu no chance whatsoever. The hosts wrapped it up in the second period when Suarez found the back of the net in the 77th minute to ensure a comfortable triumph for the four-time European champions.
