Australia have crushed India by 106 runs in a 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup warm-up match in Adelaide on Sunday. The Australians won the toss and opted to bat first. David Warner was at his blistering best as he bashed 104 from only 83 balls, including 14 fours and a pair of sixes.
However Warner’s teammates struggled to stay with him as the home side made their way to 227/5 in the 35th over. Glenn Maxwell provided the necessary acceleration as he bludgeoned 122 from only 57 deliveries with 11 fours and eight sixes along the way. Maxwell retired out as the Australians were all out for 371 in 48.2 overs.
Mohammed Shami would ordinarily feel good about taking three wickets, but would not have been pleased at it costing 83 runs in 9.2 overs. In the chase it took just 20 runs before Rohit Sharma was back in the hut. The visitors struggled to get going truth be told.
Shikhar Dhawan scored 59 while Ambati Rayudu added 53 with a top score of 66 by Ajinkya Rahane, as the Indians put up something of a fight but it was just not to be at the Adelaide Oval. Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets each with Pat Cummins was the best of the bunch with 3/30 in his six overs.
India were all out for 265 in 45.1 overs.
