Atletico Madrid Experience Juventus Joy

Atletico Madrid beat Juventus 1-0 at Estadio Vicente Calderon on Wednesday night in the second round of matches of the Uefa Champions League campaign.  The 2013/14 runners-up went in to this match looking for their first win of the season after they suffered a defeat from Olympiacos last time out.  In the opening ten minutes Atletico were pressing high up the pitch not giving Juve enough to play.

Both teams were not creating clear chances as they were playing a tactical game, not looking to attack with all numbers as the match went to
half-time 0-0.  In the second the home side were looking to up their game plan, as it seems the Serie A champions came to Madrid to play
for a point.  Massimiliano Allegri’s plan backfired in the 74th minute when Arda Turan gave his side the 1-0 lead.

The home side continued to push for the second goal as the visitors started to make some changes.  The likes of Alvaro Morata came on for
The Old Lady as they were looking for the equaliser.  That goal from Turan was vital as Diego Simeone’s side managed to win their first match and picked up a crucial three points.
