Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League on Saturday in a North London derby at the Emirates Stadium. The hosts started the game looking for an early lead and had several chances but none reached the target. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain opened the referee’s book after a foul on Etienne Capoue on 11th minutes.
Emmanuel Adebayor wanted to punish his former team but Wojciech Szczesny was on his best form. Nacer Chadli gave the visitors the lead in the 56th minute after an error inside the box. Arsene Wenger’s side continued pressing looking for an equaliser however Szczesny had to be on guard to deny Spurs at the other end. Oxlade-Chamberlain sent a half volley whistling over the crossbar from the edge of the box and eventually the Englishman found an equaliser for the hosts with his first goal of the season.
In the end these North London rivals settled for a point a piece.
