Arsenal hammered Burnley 3-0 in the English Premier League at Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Burnley had the first chance to go through and score a goal as Dean Marney picked out Marvin Sordell but the striker was offside. The Gunners almost scored in the 16th minute when they were rewarded a free-kick in a dangerous position after Santi Cazorla was fouled by George Boyd.
Both teams kept pressing for a lead but there was no penetration as the break arrived with the sides still unable to score. Alexis Sanchez gave the hosts the boost when he scored from the edge of the box. It didn’t take long for Calum Chambers to smash the ball in from close range and give Arsene Wenger’s side an extended advantage.
The Clarets had a strong defensive side but that didn’t stop Sanchez from scoring again to wrap up the three points for the London club.
